Excavation, Transportation, and Disposal Dredging Conti removed more than 700,000 cubic yards of contaminated sediments from the Delaware and Raritan Canal in New Jersey. During the reconstruction of the Union Lake Dam in New Jersey, Conti used specialized excavation equipment to remove more than 64,000 cubic yards of arsenic-contaminated sediments. Former Manufactured Gas Plant Sites We used negative air pressure to eliminate fugitive emissions to the surrounding community while excavating within a temporary structure at PSE&G's Hobart Avenue MGP site in New Jersey. Radioactive Materials We have extensive experience with low level radioactive waste (LLRW) removal in such areas as the Maywood, Middlesex and Wayne FUSRAP sites in New Jersey. The Welsbach/GGM Superfund Site required the excavation, transportation and disposal of 70,000 tons of LLRW material. Residential Remediation Conti pioneered the original NJDEP pilot program for residential remediation at the Montclair/Glen Ridge Superfund Sites and set the standard for the cleanup of residences countrywide. Soil Excavation At the Nascolite and Caldwell Trucking Superfund Sites, we used vapor suppressing foam and other engineering controls to remove soil with high VOC contamination levels adjacent to occupied commercial buildings. Underground Storage Tank Removal At the Pennsylvania Army National Guard (PaANG) Fort Indiantown Gap facility, we removed 57 USTs ranging in size from 500 to 10,000 gallons. The job included sampling and analysis to verify that petroleum contamination of subsurface soil and groundwater had not occurred. Unexploded Ordnance Removal Conti performed UXO screening, removal and site restoration at the Fort Belvoir Engineering Proving Ground, identifying over 12,000 potential UXO items. Our subcontractors included a Native American-owned SDB for UXO removal and disposal. We procured on-site services for a blast chamber to safely dispose of 500 UXO items (land mines). |
